GUS

Growing Up Successfully

What is GUS?

Growing Up Successfully (GUS) is a Tier 3 intervention program that provides specialized and individualized behavioral support to general education students struggling to succeed in a larger classroom setting.  Program methodologies include academic, emotional and behavioral support to students within a highly structured and closely supervised environment to promote the development of  social skills, self-awareness, self-control, and self-esteem.  The use of a structured tiered system provides a setting where problem behaviors are minimized and positive, appropriate behaviors are fostered. Students participate in weekly counseling groups and a daily social skills group, using our Sanford Harmony curriculum that focuses on effective communication and interpersonal skills, plus replacement behavioral change, symptom management, and overall coping skills.
