Fremont Junior High is October's Spotlight School! Below are principal Michelle Hall's remarks on their spotlight honorees:

Certified Staff- Angelica Harvey
For the past 31 years, Coach Harvey has poured her heart into Fremont Junior High. Whether she is coaching sports every quarter, lining fields, setting up athletic events, keeping score, or cheering on students, Coach Harvey leads quietly through her actions, never seeking recognition or expecting anything in return. She does these things for one simple reason: she believes every student deserves to feel like they belong, and after years of determination and persistence, she even accomplished her longtime goal of bringing the Arizona Cardinals to the Fremont campus, creating an unforgettable experience for our students. To Coach Harvey, Fremont is more than a school; it is an extension of her home, and she treats everyone who walks through its doors like family. Coach Harvey truly bleeds Fremont purple, and her unwavering pride, dedication, and love for our students, staff, and community make Fremont a better place to be, and we could not be prouder to call her one of our own.
Classified Staff- Elizabeth Nieves
Although this is only her first year at Fremont, Elizabeth Nieves has already made an incredible impact, stepping into some very big shoes and jumping in with both feet to build meaningful relationships with our students, staff, families, and community. Through her dedication to developing community partnerships, Elizabeth has created opportunities that enrich the lives of Fremont families, from coordinating a Thanksgiving meal drive to expanding and organizing our CARE Closet to provide greater access to everyday necessities. She is constantly finding ways to bring people together, support community events, and create opportunities for families to become more connected to our school. Perhaps her greatest impact has been her ability to break down barriers, open doors, and ensure that every student, parent, and community member feels welcomed, valued, and connected to Fremont. In a short amount of time, Elizabeth has become a trusted resource and familiar face for students, families, and staff, reminding us that a strong school community is built on relationships, compassion, and a genuine commitment to serving others.
Student- Sydney Crowther
Sydney Crowther is an outstanding student leader who truly embodies what it means to be a Fremont Falcon through her kindness, involvement, and commitment to making our school a place where everyone belongs. Selected through a recommendation and interview process to serve as a Nest Builder, Sydney helps incoming seventh graders transition to Fremont, supports our pep assemblies, and is always someone we can count on to welcome others and lend a helping hand. An honors student whose favorite classes include Algebra, Honors ELA, and Orchestra, Sydney loves reading, spending time outdoors, and fishing, and she dreams of attending BYU–Idaho to pursue a career as a veterinarian or marine biologist. Whether she is participating in clubs during lunch, helping her peers, or finding her next great book to read, Sydney embraces every opportunity to learn, grow, and get involved. What Sydney loves most about Fremont is that there is a place for everyone and a way for everyone to belong, and as a Nest Builder, she doesn't just believe in that message—she lives it by helping others find their place in the Falcon family.
