In Mesa Public Schools, we believe that students thrive when multiple adults collaborate to support their learning. Our team-based approach ensures that every student benefits from a team of educators with diverse expertise and experience, fostering deeper learning, stronger connections, and greater academic success.

At the heart of this model is a core team—educators who work directly with students every day. This team may include certified teachers, instructional assistants, special education teachers, and others who provide consistent, personalized instruction. Teachers within the core team take on specialized roles, such as Lead Teacher, subject-area specialists (ELA, math, technology), and experts in special education or English language learning.

Beyond the core team, an extended team enhances learning by bringing in additional perspectives and expertise. This may include community educators, industry partners, volunteers, specialists, and IEP teams, all working together to meet student needs. Through this collaborative structure, we ensure that every learner has access to a network of dedicated professionals committed to their success.
