Welcome back! We are thrilled to kick off another year of learning and growth on August 1.

At Mesa Public Schools, we have a promise that every student is known by name, served by strength and need and graduates ready for college, career and community. Your support and partnership are vital to our success, and we are honored to have you as part of our school community.

To ensure a smooth beginning of the school year, please ensure your contact information is up-to-date in our system. You may update it anytime from the Parent Portal or with your child's school.

Here's additional information for you regarding the new school year:

  • Student IDs: This year, all students will be required to wear identification badges. Please ensure your child wears their ID every day. More information will be shared by your child’s school soon.

  • Bus Ridership Solution: Our new bus ridership solution will allow parents to track their child's bus in real-time, providing peace of mind and enhancing transportation safety. We piloted this program at several schools last spring and will continue to roll it out over the next few months. Stay tuned for details on implementation at your school.

  • Attendance Matters: It is important for students to be present and on time every day. Regular attendance is crucial for your child’s academic success. We emphasize the importance of being present and on time every day.

  • Stay Hydrated: School may be back in session, but it’s still summer in Arizona! It's important for students to stay hydrated throughout the day. Please remind your child to bring a water bottle to school.

  • School Supplies: Your child will have access to all the school supplies needed for a successful school year. We do ask that parents send their student to school with a backpack, or inform the school office if securing one is a challenge. At the elementary level, teachers may share wish lists with families for additional classroom donations.

  • Re-enrollment: If you haven't done so already, please prioritize re-enrolling your child for the upcoming school year. This is a crucial step that ensures a smooth start to the year for all students. Visit mpsaz.org/enroll to complete the process. If you need help, please reach out to your child’s school office.

  • Information & Guidelines: Find the district’s student code of conduct, discipline matrix and additional information at mpsaz.org/guidelines.

  • Mark Your Calendars: Meet the Teacher Night and Curriculum Night are wonderful opportunities for families to come into our schools, connect with your child’s teachers and find out all that is available to help students find their success. Be on the lookout for communications from your child's school.

  • Stay Connected: Follow us on social media to stay updated with school news, events, and announcements. Connect with us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for the latest updates and highlights.
